Dr. Oelbermann holds the position of Professor within the School of Environment, Resources, and Sustainability (SERS) at the University of Waterloo. Before her tenure in academia, she contributed as an environmental consultant in Vancouver. Throughout her extensive research journey, she has authored over 65 peer-reviewed papers and curated a book titled "Sustainable Agroecosystems in Climate Change Mitigation," published by Wageningen Academic Publishers. Dr. Oelbermann's scholarly contributions extend beyond publications; she has delivered over 145 presentations at global conferences, participated in numerous invited talks, organized symposia, and actively contributed to conference scientific committees. Additionally, she has taken on roles as a managing guest editor and guest associate editor for special journal issues. Dr. Oelbermann plays a pivotal role in mentoring both graduate (PhD & Master's) and undergraduate students, regularly hosting visiting scholars and interns from diverse backgrounds across the globe.
